Terms and conditions

These terms explain how BuffIt governs platform operations, international advertising revenue (for example from the United Kingdom and the USA), and cooperation with restaurants and advertisers.

1. Scope and international reach

  • These terms and conditions govern use of the BuffIt platform by users and restaurant partners worldwide.
  • We operate the platform from Germany. For users in other countries, especially the United Kingdom and the USA, mandatory consumer protection and privacy laws of the country of residence also apply. Any deviations are explained in local addenda.
  • In the event of conflict, mandatory legal rules of the relevant country take precedence over these terms.

2. BuffIt services

  • BuffIt offers a platform to search, review and manage buffet and all-you-can-eat restaurants as well as advertising and campaign space for hospitality partners.
  • We monetize the platform through Google Ads, contextual and personalized advertising and our own advertising programs. Ads may be shown to international visitors.
  • Additional services such as premium placements, analytics or booking functions are governed separately and may be subject to country-specific conditions.

3. Registration, accounts and verification

  • A user account is required for certain functions. Information must be accurate. Restaurant partners may be required to upload supporting documents (for example business registration, tax ID, W-8/W-9 forms).
  • BuffIt may use geo-IP checks, payment provider checks or additional KYC processes to minimize abuse and regulatory risk.
  • Accounts may be suspended or terminated for breaches of these terms, incomplete documentation or fraudulent conduct.

4. Usage rules and content

  • It is prohibited to publish unlawful, discriminatory, misleading or harmful content. Users must provide only accurate information.
  • BuffIt may moderate, label or remove content if it violates these terms, legal requirements or platform policies (for example Google Publisher Policies).
  • The platform may embed or link third-party content (for example videos from Instagram or TikTok). Additional terms and privacy notices of those providers apply; BuffIt has no control over their processing activities.
  • Users must check whether additional legal requirements apply to international listings (for example licenses or labeling obligations).

5. Advertising, monetization and partner networks

  • We work with advertising networks such as Google AdSense and Ad Manager. By using the platform, you agree that third-party ads may be displayed.
  • Advertising revenue may originate from different countries. We reserve the right to use technical measures (for example consent and geo-targeting) to comply with local rules and allocate revenue correctly.
  • Restaurant partners advertising through BuffIt must ensure that their content complies with applicable law and the policies of the relevant ad platform.

6. Pricing, payment terms and taxes

  • Basic functions are free of charge. Paid services are presented transparently and billed in the stated currency (for example EUR, GBP, USD).
  • Depending on the country, BuffIt may charge or withhold different taxes, duties and processing fees (for example German VAT, UK VAT, US withholding taxes).
  • Users and restaurant partners are responsible for fulfilling their own tax obligations and providing us with any required documentation.

7. International use and geo-restrictions

  • We may restrict or disable certain features regionally if required for legal or technical reasons. This includes payment processing, ad formats or restaurant verification.
  • Users outside Germany receive access “as is”. BuffIt does not guarantee that services are permanently available or lawful in every country.
  • If these terms conflict with country-specific rules, we will provide supplemental conditions or information about required adjustments.

8. Liability

  • BuffIt is liable for intent and gross negligence as well as damages arising from injury to life, body or health.
  • In the event of slightly negligent breach of essential contractual duties, liability is limited to the typically foreseeable damage. Liability for other slightly negligent breaches is excluded.
  • Mandatory liability rules remain unaffected.

9. Rights to content and indemnification

  • Users grant BuffIt a simple, worldwide right to use submitted content for display on the platform, in apps or in advertising campaigns.
  • Users indemnify BuffIt against third-party claims arising from content they provide where they are responsible for that content.
  • We may adapt content to comply with local law (for example translations or removal of sensitive data).

10. Changes, jurisdiction and governing law

  • BuffIt may amend these terms with future effect if there are legitimate reasons (for example legal changes, new features or international expansion). We will provide reasonable notice of material changes.
  • German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the user’s home country remain unaffected.
  • For merchants and public-law entities, the place of jurisdiction is Berlin. For consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies.
